January 2011
Huh.
So apparently we had Lit homework - an analytical essay of one of Keats’ poems, get this, using a critical article specifically found at State. I only had three days left of supposed school and library-free freedom, but guess where I’ll be for the next 72 hours? Lucky I had brunch with the lovely Demi this morning, or I’d have a solid discredit before term even started hah.

Do you remember, do you remember
Playing on the street til it got dark and your parents would call you in for dinner? Playing with kites in the park? How about twenty or thirty years ago, running along dirt roads, when kids would be perfectly happy with wooden toys (or any toys at all) or making up games with the other neighbourhood children. And it wasn’t just contentment, it was happiness. That was the life of kids back then....

How I love spontaneous nights out!
It is so easy to lose yourself in crowds, and be spared the usual brain draining efforts of intellectual socialising . To just laugh and dance and eat and make conversation! So my night of unplanned events included a youth group dinner featuring the lovely teresa (i only went bc of her actually!), dnms on the trampoline, then back to her house to chill.. then the festival at box hill! If you like...
Had a really good day chilling with old school best friends. Melbourne is small, but how much has it got packed in!

This above all: To your own self, be true.
-William Shakespeare
I don’t think I can stress this quote enough. I know there are times where we fool around, laugh and have fun, but if you put all those aside, sit yourself down and think…. are you really being true to yourself and who you want to be? To answer this honestly though, you have to be serious with yourself for once. You...

And I usually never give a very convincing reason.. either bc I don’t think you’re a person to have an entirely satisfying argument with/I’m tired of people thinking I’m out to convert them/I really just can’t be bothered.

Even when I feel like everything is kind of okay or that I’m almost happy, the heavy feeling in my chest remains. I can’t even enjoy the moment because I can’t believe it’s a change form the usual. The usual. Do you know what I mean? Anything that deviates from usual scares me. It’s a contradiction. I want to be happy, or whatever it is that everyone is searching for. But I’ve gotten...

Real women are tall. Real women are short. They’re wide. Gaunt. Their bones can stick out of their collarbones, or be disguised by curves or fat. There are real women with breasts and real women with flat chests. There are real women who have had to have their breasts or ovaries removed, and not having those doesn’t make them any less of a real woman. There are even real women who...
